Homework for This weekend

Your task for the weekend is as follows
Develop a skill that you will teach to your group that will help them improve their touch skills.
You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of simple & complex skills. This means you will need to choose a skill that starts of simple & then you make it more complex.
Example -
passing a ball standing still to another player standing still 5m away
passing a ball standing still to another player running on to a ball 5m away
passing a ball standing still to another player running on to a ball 5m away who then has to perform a side step past an obstacle.
Then you will need to show your understanding of a Closed & open skill learning by changing your skill in an open situation.

This isn't a difficult task - but it will require planning.
You will need to plan how you will teach it, equipment required balls, cones whistles. You will be given 5 minutes to teach this task to your team.
Teaching time will be done on Wednesday.

Make a list of words touch players would use to describe.

You will need to research information, plan teaching a skill - then teach it.

Year 11 PED – Monday 7th April

Year 11 PED – Monday 7th April

Evaluating your Athletic performance
Step 1
Initial results -5 Star
Why& How did I achieve these results?

What were the pluses? What were the minuses?
What were the positives? What were the negatives?
What were your strengths & weaknesses?
You need to have at least 3- 4 reasons if possible explaining why you may achieved the above results.

Factors that influence your performance
Knowledge of Technique
Psychological factors –Motivation
Environment – Setting & how you train or practice
Past Experience –
Level of Fitness

3 Activities RUN – JUMP- THROW for each of these activities are you able to link with any of the influencing factors

Step 2
What am I going to do to get better?
How am I going to improve – What steps do I need to task?
Previous information was a problem & you identified what those problems could have been. Now you have to solve these problems

What things will I do?
Knowledge of Technique- observe others, get advise from a coach or teacher, watch a video , get a video, reads information from books, internet, magazines to find out more information
Psychological factors –Motivation- set myself some goals, develop a plan, keep records of what I am doing, train with a group of people, join a club,
Environment – Setting & how you train or practice
Dressing correctly, choosing appropriate times to train, using correct gear, doing the right type of practice. Practice perfect practice or training.
Past Experience – Do lots of practical sessions to gain experience, join a club, worked with a coach, did weights, did extra lessons, joined a competition, trained with others.
Level of Fitness – see above

Step 3 taking actions – Doing what you said you would do to make improvements

TIME- week 1 Week9
First results- training /practice Final result
Learning/

Step 4 Final results - Why did I achieve this result?
How long did it take me?
What things had I done?
Trained last 8 weeks, Read, watched, practised etc

Positive / Negative results - explain the difference?
Use Facts – initial result/ Final result – plus or minus Why? How much
Use logbook / notebook to get facts & then give sound reasoning’s for improvements? Was it a fluke?
Knowledge of Technique- give evidence –(logbook, notebook- books read, observed etc
Psychological factors –Motivation
Environment – Setting & how you train or practice
Past Experience –
Level of Fitness

Make statements & support them with 2 o3 other supporting sentences that explain your initial statement.
I did well at long jump as I jumped 5.6 metres. Good start – Now give me lots of other statements that support why you have achieved this result & how
By – telling me by comparing initial & final result?
How long did it take you?+
What things did you do to achieve this performance etc must be at least 3-4 things you did?
You need to learn how to write correctly when answering questions

NOW TAKE TIME TO READ & WRITE- before Wednesday.
